You still want a Birkin?

Ceesie is shocked. (and not just a little!)
When I woke up this morning I opened my computer and checked my Facebook, like every other day.
A friend of mine posted this video of alligators that are breed in horrible farms just for Hermes bags.
I was so discussed by it that Ceesie felt like sharing it on his blog.
Don't get me wrong, I do love a crocodile Birkin and it's probably the chicest and most expensive bag in the world, but after seeing this video I lost my respect for the French brand and all the women that wear it. (or that will keep on wearing them after seeing the video.)
Who wants to spend 45000 dollars on a bag when you know that 3 crocodiles were killed in a horrible way? That's just not ok. Ceesie this that luxury should not equal cruelty!

Grilled Tomato soup

Here is the recipe from one of my favorite soups.  Enjoy!

What do we need:
2 lbs. (900 g) ripe tomatoes
1 large carrot, peeled and diced
3 vegetable bouillon cubes, dissolved in 6 cups (1.5 liter) water
1 onion, minced
3 cloves of garlic, minced
3 teaspoons oregano
Italian herb mix
A handful of fresh basil
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
Olive oil
Salt and freshly ground pepper

How to make:
Cut each tomato into quarters and arrange on a baking sheet. Sprinkle the tomato pieces with some olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, pepper, oregano and some of the fresh basil. Cook under the broiler for 20 to 25 minutes until browned.
In the meantime, put the thinly sliced onion, garlic, carrot and the remaining basil in a large saucepan and cook with a bit of olive oil. Cover the pan and stir the vegetables occasionally. After about 15 minutes they will be soft and tender.
Next add the tomatoes to the cooked vegetables. Stir in the pot so that all the flavors are thoroughly mixed and then add the stock. Cover and leave the soup to simmer another 20 minutes. Puree the vegetables with an immersion mixer and the soup is ready. Season to taste with salt, pepper and Italian herb mix.

change it up

They say that your life doesn't get better by chance, it gets better by change.
And that's why my agency IMG models and I have decided to go for a switch.
We thought why not cut all the long voluminous hair off and color it in a dark chocolate brown?
So we did and Ceesie is SO happy with the result. After all, you only live once: YOLO!

Juice me up

Ceesie loves a good juice. There is not one day that goes by without sipping on a delicious, fresh and healthy juice.
A juice let you absorb large amounts of beneficial nutrients and it makes it much easier for your body to absorb and metabolize.
Here are my 2 favorite juices. They're super easy to make and so good for the body, skin and mind.

For both recipes you need a juicer and FRESH veggies:

The Green monster: (2 glasses)
- 2 hands of fresh spinach leaves
- 1/2 cucumber
- 3 celery sticks
- 1 broccoli floret
- 1 lemon
- 1 green apple

Detox juice: (2 glasses)
- 1 apple
- 4 carrots
- A piece of fresh ginger
- 1 lemon (peeled)
- 1 red beet

A table for one please

Ceesie loves the fact that dining by yourself in New York is pretty normal, compared to some cities in Europe.
When I'm back home in Belgium I would never go for a solo dinner. People would look at me weird and I would feel so uncomfortable.
Ceesie began to reserve a table for one when he started traveling for work as a model.
I discovered all these amazing cities with the best restaurants and no one to enjoy it with me, so I just went by myself.
Eating alone at home is one thing: You cook, then sit at the table and eat. Maybe you read or watch some tv at the same time, but eating alone in a restaurant, and in a city I didn't knew, was very new to me.
Now Ceesie loves eating by himself: It's cheaper, faster, it's easier to get a seat and you can really focus on the food, while eating with friends you sometimes forget to taste what's in front of u.
So here is a toast to solo dining.

Coffee spots

Ceesie drinks everyday one latte, but a latte is not just a latte to me. I like it with a good amount of foam, almond milk and a splash of honey.
Here are my 5 favorite coffee shops that will serve you the best cup of coffee in Manhattan.

The Roost:
I like this place cause it's just around the corner from where I live. The coffee is great and the people are very nice. (They also serve great pastries from Balthazar Bakery.)
At night the coffee bar turns into a whiskey/cocktail bar and they have a huge area in the back where you can chill.
222 Ave B, New York

Blue Bottle Coffee:
I always go there when I have a shoot at MILK studios. It's a great take away coffee spot and they have other locations in Manhattan, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
450 W 15th St, New York

El Rey:
This is the place to go for friendly service and great coffee. When the sun is out everyone sits outside and chats with each other. It reminds me of a cute coffee shop in Sydney.
100 Stanton Street , New York

Kaffee 1668:
Probably the best coffee shop in Tribeca. While the focus is on the coffee, their juices and teas are also incredible. The vibe is great for getting work done or to chit chat with a friend.
275 Greenwich street , New York

Cafe Grumpy:
Ceesie loves Grumpy coffee. It's by far one of the best coffees you'll ever taste in Manhattan. Their scones and other homemade pastries are delicious. I also love the no laptop policy, great to see so much conversation happening at their tables. (something that is very rare in NYC!)

Elvira Hancock

Ceesie watched the movie "Scarface" for the 24th time in his life and can't get over the fact how HOT and AMAZING Elvira Hancock is.
Michelle pfeiffer plays such a cool chic, I die every time I see it.

MODEL KITCHEN

After publishing my cookbook MODEL KITCHEN Ceesie felt like moving on to the next step… and what's the most logical thing to do after publishing a cookbook? Trying to get your own cooking show.
So Ceesie decided to make a pitch and with the help of IMG models this all happened in no time.
I asked my sexy model friend Kelly Rohrbach (who is one of the 7 rookies into Sports Illustrated's annual Issue) to come and cook with me in my New York Kitchen.

Two Hands

Ceesie discovered his new favorite lunch place.
Two hands is a cute, newly opened, restaurant where good food is served by two cool dudes (from Australia).
I passed this little restaurant the other day and it pulled me straight in.
This place is very cool: modern art, hanging light bulbs, wooden tables and brick walls… The music is on point and the staff is very laid back and HOT. Ceesie felt like he was back in Sydney, which he loved.
I asked for a Almond milk Latte, which turned out to be amazing. One of he best coffees I had in a LONG time. But I didn't stop there, Ceesie tried the ricotta toast AND a banana bread slice after.
So yummy!!!!  You have to give it to those Aussies, they don't disappoint!

Ceesie is a fan!

zucchini pasta

Ceesie discovered his new favorite recipe: zucchini pasta.
I tried it the other day and I am absolutely in LOVE! It taste like regular pasta, but it's carb free, very healthy and low in calories, the perfect model dish!

Here is the recipe:
For the Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic; peeled and minced
- 1 carrot, diced
- a few mushrooms, cut in small slices
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian seasonings
- handful fresh basil leaves, finely chopped
- salt and pepper to season
- 1 can of roasted tomatoes sauce

For the zucchini noodles:
- 4 large zucchini

Directions:
In a pot over medium heat add the olive oil, onions and garlic and let it cook for a few minutes.
Add the carrots, mushrooms and let it cook for another 3-5 minutes till all the veggies are well cooked. Add the tomato sauce, spices and basil leaves.
Reduce heat to medium low and cover, allowing the sauce to continue to simmer for 30 minutes.

To prepare the zucchini noodles, firstly, wash and dry the zucchini then use a spiralizer to create a noodle, place the zucchini into the machine and turn the handle to begin the cycle. If you don't have a spiralizer you can also use a julienne peeler.
Divide the raw zucchini noodles and add to the sauce. Mix and let it sit for 2 minutes.
Place noodles on your plate, placing the warm sauce and garnish on top, finalize by adding some fresh parmesan for extra flavor.

Enjoy this carb free pasta!

J to the LO

Ceesie went to see the movie "The boy next door " this past weekend. (Don't judge me judge Judy!)
The movie was obviously a bad movie, but I kind of enjoyed it.
It was sexy, thrilling, didn't had to use my brain and I was so impressed by Jennefer Lopez's beauty. The women has not aged since the 90's.
Hands down, she is (still) the hottest Hollywood star on the planet. Her body, her face, her hair, her ass,… she still has it.
Jenny from the block, Ceesie love you.

Could a dog help me find a date?

Everyone knows that finding a date in NYC is as hard as finding a needle in a haystack.
The other day I was walking to my gym and all of a sudden I thought… maybe I should get a dog so I can meet a hot date!?
Ceesie thinks that some New Yorkers buy a dog to get them find the love of their live. People in NYC are just always in a hurry and it's hard to make a genuine connection with a new person and sometimes a dog is the only thing that gets people to stop and talk.
